Certificates & Drawings
Find the right technical file for an MK Cable product. Product drawings are available on many product pages. Safety approvals and compliance documents must be checked for the exact cord and destination market.
Important A document is valid only for the product, construction, model or product family shown in that document. A similar plug, connector or cable does not automatically have the same approval.
Which document do you need?
Drawings, safety approvals and material-compliance documents have different purposes. Select the document that your technical or purchasing team requires.
Product drawing
Shows the cord construction, plug, connector, cable, length, electrical rating, dimensions and manufacturer reference.
Use it to confirm the physical and technical specification before ordering.Safety approval
Confirms third-party assessment for a stated product, component, standard and market. Examples include VDE, ENEC, UL, cUL, PSE, CCC, KC, SAA and BIS.
The marks available depend on the exact cord construction.EU conformity information
CE marking shows the manufacturer's declaration that the product meets the applicable EU legal requirements. It is not the same as an independent VDE or ENEC safety certificate.
An EU Declaration of Conformity is supplied where it is applicable and required.RoHS & REACH information
These documents concern restricted substances and chemical-information duties. They are not electrical safety approvals and they do not replace a product drawing or safety certificate.
Statements must be checked for the requested product and document date.Common approval systems
These are common examples for power cords. The mark must be shown in the product specification or supporting document for the selected model.
| Market | Common examples | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Europe | VDE, ENEC and other national approval marks | Cord or component model, standard, current, voltage and cable construction |
| USA & Canada | UL and cUL | NEMA or IEC configuration, SJT/SVT type, AWG size and cord rating |
| United Kingdom | ASTA or other applicable UK approval information | Plug standard, fuse, cord rating and current UK market requirements |
| Japan | PSE | JIS plug, cable type, current, voltage and registered model |
| China & Korea | CCC and KC | Destination country, plug, cable and approved product model |
| Australia, New Zealand & India | SAA / RCM information and BIS | Exact destination, national plug version and approval scope |
A cord with several approval marks can support more than one market, but only within the ratings and models covered by its documents. See the International Plug Guide for country plug information.
How to find a product drawing
Many MK Cable product pages include a PDF drawing in the Related files tab.
What to check in the drawing
Do not approve a cord only by its product name or photo. Compare the full specification.
| Drawing field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| MK code and model number | Connects the drawing to the exact stocked or quoted product. |
| Source plug and equipment connector | Confirms the complete connection direction and mating interfaces. |
| Cable type and conductor size | Affects voltage class, temperature, flexibility and the approved cord rating. |
| Length and tolerance | Confirms how the stated length is measured and the permitted variation. |
| Current, voltage and temperature | The complete cord must meet the equipment and installation requirements. |
| Approval marks and references | Shows which approvals are stated for that construction. Ask for supporting documents when needed. |
Request a certificate or compliance document
Send enough information to identify the correct document. This avoids sending a certificate for a similar but different cord.
- Exact MK Cable product code
- Product or supplier model number, if available
- Destination country or market
- Required document type or approval mark
- Project, customer or equipment name
- Required language and submission date
