Build a clear custom power cord specification

Use this guide when a standard stock cord does not match your connection, cable, length, colour, approval or project requirement. A complete specification helps us check feasibility, price, MOQ, delivery time and the most suitable shipping method.

Important A custom cord is one complete approved product. A change to the plug, connector, cable, conductor size, length or colour can affect the rating, approval, MOQ, price or production time.

Choose the right request

You may not need a fully new product. Start with the option that best describes your requirement.

Standard product The required cord is already available

Send the MK product code and quantity, or order the available stock through the online shop. Custom-production MOQ does not apply to available stock.

Product variation You need one change to an existing cord

Send the closest MK product code and state the required change, such as length, colour or cable type.

New configuration The complete cord must be defined

Use the six-point checklist below. Photos, equipment models and existing drawings are also helpful.

Define the complete power path

Both ends must match the equipment, and every part must support the required electrical and environmental conditions.

Power-source connection

Identify the wall socket or PDU outlet and the required plug. Examples include country plugs, NEMA plugs, IEC C14 and IEC C20.

Equipment connection

Identify the equipment inlet and required connector, such as IEC C13, C15, C19 or C21. Include the equipment model when possible.

Check locking options

Electrical and environmental rating

State the required current, voltage, frequency, temperature and indoor or outdoor conditions. Also mention repeated movement, oil, moisture or low-smoke requirements.

We can arrange sea freight, air freight or courier delivery according to the order quantity, destination and required delivery date. Please include both the quantity and required timing in your enquiry so we can recommend a suitable option.

Common questions

What is the usual MOQ for a custom power cord?

Custom-production quantities typically start at 200 pieces. The actual MOQ depends on the plug, connector, cable, colour, approval and manufacturer. Send the full specification, required quantity and expected annual volume so we can check the best option. Custom-production MOQ does not apply to products already available from stock.

Can you make a different length or colour?

Often yes, but the available length, colour and MOQ depend on the cable and approved construction. Even a simple change must be checked before quotation.

Can I combine any plug, cable and IEC connector?

No. The parts must be compatible and the complete cord must meet the required current, voltage, temperature and market approval. The lowest-rated part sets the final rating.

Can you supply a sample before production?

A sample can often be checked, but availability, cost and lead time depend on the construction and tooling. A sample may also use preliminary marking or components, so its final status must be confirmed.

Which shipping methods can be used?

Depending on the project, we can arrange sea freight, air freight or courier delivery. The suitable option depends on the quantity, shipment size, destination and required delivery date. Include these details in your enquiry so we can compare the available routes.

Can you use our company label or part number?

This can be checked for suitable production quantities. Send the label file, required data, barcode format, placement and packaging instructions with the enquiry.

Do custom cords include certificates and drawings?

Available documents depend on the approved construction and market. State which drawing, approval, declaration or compliance document you require before the order is finalised.
